J&B Painting LLC recently wrapped up a full exterior aluminum siding painting project on a 2,001 sq ft home in Northville, MI. Over five days, we cleaned, prepped, and painted the home’s aluminum siding, shutters, gutters, and garage door. The siding was coated in Sherwin-Williams Sea Serpent—a bold navy blue with a flat finish. Shutters got a sharp update in a near-black satin, and the garage door and gutters were painted in clean, crisp white. The home got a serious upgrade in curb appeal without needing new siding.
Background / Story:
The homeowner gave us a call after a friend recommended us. We had painted their friend’s house the year before, and they were still thrilled with the results. This family was ready to refresh the outside of their own home. Their aluminum siding was showing its age—faded in spots, chipped in others. The wife really wanted a dark navy look that felt modern but still classic. Once we showed her the Sea Serpent color from Sherwin-Williams, she was all in. The rest came together from there.
Scope of Services:
- Exterior Aluminum Siding Painting: We used Sherwin-Williams Super Paint Flat in SW7615 Sea Serpent. The deep navy brought fresh life to the home’s aluminum exterior and made it stand out in the neighborhood.
- Shutter Painting: All shutters were painted using Sherwin-Williams Super Paint Satin in a deep, dark blue—almost black. It added contrast and tied the look together.
- Garage Door & Gutter Painting: For balance, we finished the garage door and gutters with Sherwin-Williams Satin in Pure White. It gave a crisp, clean frame to the bold siding color.
- Prep Work: Before any painting started, we power-washed the exterior, scraped peeling paint, sanded rough spots, and caulked every gap and seam with Sherwin-Williams Powerhouse 60-year caulk. Every surface was prepped to get the most out of the new paint.
